The Dreaded E Chord!

Watch the newest episodes of Webcam Sessions!

This week on Ukulele Webcam Sessions, Matt helps you tackle the dreaded E chord. He shows you a couple of different ways to hold the chord, and offers his advice for each. To teach this lesson, Matt uses the Islander Uke that's currently up for grabs. If you missed last week's episode click HERE to find out how you can win this four string beauty.

To learn how to hold the E chord (directly from the same source as Matt) check out our How to Hold the E Chord Uke Minutes as well as How to Hold Multiple Strings with One Finger. Once you've got a hang of forming the chord, watch our Uke Minutes on Mastering Difficult Chords to learn an exercise that can really help familiarize your fingers with the formerly dreaded E chord.

  1. Hi Matt, would love for you to do a video on ukulele maintenance. What we can do ourselves and what we should leave to the pro. I have one gloss uke and one natural unfinished and I received no information with them on best care for either of them.

  2. Hi. I’d really like to see you do a lesson on stringing the Uke with your eyes closed. This isn’t a joke or a trick but I’m blind and I want to know if it’s possible to do. Otherwise I’m trekking to another town to get it done which will cost me not only the travel money but then also for the strings and the service of getting a music shop to re-string.

  3. This helped me so much, Matt. I’ve been using the barre on the 4th fret version, and I can actually do it!

  4. Hi Matt,
Really look forward to your weekly lessons and tips. Could you give us some exercises we can do to build up strength and dexterity in our fingers,

    Many thanks Ray
