Help! On the down stroke I get an unpleasant clicking or rattling noise which spoils the sound of the chord I am playing. I hold my strumming finger exactly the way you have taught, hitting the strings on the side of the fingernail.
If I play with the fleshy part of my thumb, it sounds good and mellow, but I know this is wrong and I want to play the right way.
What am I doing wrong?
If you could send us a video we could tell you whats going on. It could either be your ukulele or where you are strumming. You can send a video to ryan@ukuleleunderground.com.
Never mind! I just realized I can tune my Low G string using the C string at the 5th fret! Mahalo :)!
It helps that I’ve had piano so I picked this up quickly however, your teaching style is the key!!! Great job again, and I’m hooked. And so worth the time. Aloha, Thanks SO much.
How often do you need to change your ukulele strings?, I have had mine for 7 years on my uke unplayed and tuned down the entire time? Should I change them now that I am going to start playing it?
Is the 1/8th note always on the up strum?
when using your G string to tune in your a string, dose it have to be hi g not a low G
I am having a hard time doing the upstrum between the quarter notes, so I’ve been using a metronome. Do you have any suggestions on how I can learn to maintain a more uniform rhythm between the downstrum and the upstrum? TIA
