Learn to play an easy version of "Aloha ‘Oe" by Queen Lili'uokalani on Ukulele
On this lesson of Songs Made Easy, you'll learn how to play "Aloha ‘Oe". This historic song was written by Queen Liliuokalani, the last ruling monarch of the Hawaiian kingdom. This song uses only 4 easy chords and a simple strumming pattern. Aldrine walks you through all of that and offers some pointers for transition between chords.
If you want to challenge yourself a bit more, check out our Aloha ‘Oe - Uke Lesson. It's in a different key, but the chords and strumming pattern are still fairly easy. Aldrine also teaches you an intro that utilizes chord melodies, which just means that you'll be able to hear the melody within the chords you're playing. As a beginner lesson, it's definitely within reach.
Stick around for more Songs Made Easy. We'll be streaming a new lesson every Thursday at 2:15 PM (HST). You're more than welcome to tune in LIVE and ask questions in the chat. Next week Thursday, we'll be reviewing and jamming the 3 songs we learned this month.
