Thanks Ryan -I can relate to what you’re experiencing in learning something new as an adult. I feel the challenge too – my brain is not in the practice of learning new things, I’m less coordinated and more forgetful. I so appreciated when you talked about the feeling Live Class can be intimidating for some, as it definitely is for me. But as scary as it is to participate, I consider it such an honor to learn from Aldine, and the whole team at UU that I can’t imagine missing out. I just put fear aside and show up, is how I approach it – everyone is really kind and helpful. Learning ukulele is very challenging for me – I played piano and sax in school, learning came naturally at that time, and I have forgotten most of what I learned. I was told, at that time, to stay away from drums & percussion because I have no talent in the rhythm department. And since ukulele is all about rhythm, I’m very intimidated by the strumming – my subconscious belief is not only “you can’t learn this but you shouldn’t even try” – as my band teachers said. I keep in mind that I’m doing this for fun – I’m not planning to be a professional musician at this time, but just to enjoy it and be the best I can be. I do want to play Cannon in C ?. I love being a part of UU and appreciate the time and care you guys provide to help me.
