No bounce or slide, a bit unfinished but deadlines are a great thing..

Wanted to continue experimenting with feel of a song based on scale and pitch. Similar to the song Nakhrewali.

Tired to imagine a theme song for baby yoda who gets into a serious situation and then has a super soup which charges him up.. ?
    Baby Yoda fight with soup

Updates: This scale fits the notes in the first half.. the video is from a channel ironically called “exciting” 😀 https://youtu.be/b-H7Duuyn3Y
I guess I found a name for the unique pattern of notes.. if this is raga based then there will be a whole grammar around the notes which I have no clue about..

The other part of the song goes (A major scale)
    2x(AA G# F#)
    D C# B
    C# D E A G# F#

    Yodeling :
    C# C# C# A
    B B B G#
    C# C# C# A F#

From what I searched, the initial words are sung in the 4th mode of C# harmonic minor

    https://www.scales-chords.com/scaleinfo.php?skey=C%23%5CDb&sname=harmonic%20minor
The second part seems to be in A major unless there is a C# in there..
They most likely are based on a raga scale.. where the note selection is different on the way up vs on the way down..

I was wondering what was the female part Alderine was referring to.. and then it hit me I have not watched the whole video. In the album for the movie on iTunes, the second part is a separate song “Zindagi Bahar Hai”.. I am just trying to figure out the song up to 2 min 40-second mark, the rest of the song is very traditional Bollywood stuff vs. bluesy/Jazzy.

When I said the song changes, there are lyrics that go lower to D, lower C# and hit B before the singer (Kishore Kumar who is also the actor) starts yodling and that part to me sounds different than the F#, G#, C#, C, A notes most of the rest of the song is. I have not started on the accompaniment or solos that are in the song yet, just the lyrics and chords.

I have no plans to try out the song post 2:40 mark as it is something that does not pique my interest. For the part before I think it can be arranged quite well on a low G uke. I remember enjoying the grooviness of the song as a kid.

I just picked the song on youtube to share here but did not watch the entire thing and assumed it was the same short song that is part of the album.

Song 1 is the one in the first bit and song 4 is the second bit.

Apologies and thank you for your patience.

Slack key song on the unicorn about unicorns that can be sung to little kids by all of us. C scale open C tuning song. Simple melodic and easy to redo for us.

I did not get a chance to practice and recorded the first attempt. Will see if I can get a cleaner play of the song recorded and updated.

Thank you! Between this reply and the feedback from the 1×1 sessions, I have enough to keep me busy for a month.

Another suggestion, using Xoom might be better cause it would be possible to get a recording to keep for later reference.

I have had a couple of sessions so far. I think they were very useful. I have only learnt on my own watching videos (here, Yousician, YouTube, books) and this was my first real 1×1 session with a teacher.
Going forward I think I need to come up with a training plan around the content on UU+ to help prioritize which videos and practice I focus on. It is great to have a convinient option to reach out to a teacher when I run into a wall.

One tip, have a huge reminder on the sign up page (if the time slots cannot be adjusted based on time zone in profile) that the time slots are Hawaii standard time.. I messed up one slot as I made a wrong mental memory.. the google calendar add capability does help but that kicks in after signing up.
