Whew, a crazy couple of days it has been with work travel over the last few days. I bring my uke with me when I travel and of course, all of my co-workers are always asking me to play. I did play a little in front of them to get over my nerves. One thing I learned, do not leave your Uke in a hot car, ever, period. I spaced and did so and came back to what felt like 120 degrees in there. The acacia on my uke was hot and the strings were so soft. I turned up the a/c and just left it there for like 20 minutes. I put my tuner on and my strings were so out of tune by entire notes, it was scary but it is back to normal now.
Today the wife and I went out to the beach to get some relaxation and I brought my uke to keep me occupied. I wound up playing for a good 2 hours with her and I there. I worked on strumming patterns in C and also in F. I am noticing that I can pick up chords by ear on a song and recreate a few on the uke. So much fun. I also learned to play happy birthday for a family member that is coming into town.
At the end of the night I finished it off with the Key of G practice session. The new strum pattern threw me off for a few minutes, but I figured it out.
