MemberChallenge #5 incoming! Since we made it pretty complicated last time, we decided to keep it simple this time:
Required:
I vi IV V in the Key of F
F Dm Bb CBonus points:
Lyrics, 50’s StyleLike always, we do want to see the F Dm Bb C chord pattern used at least once, but feel free to use other chords in the Key of F (Gm Am Edim), and/or you can do a key change. We look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
For anyone who is new to the challenge, write a song using the required chord pattern, post your song in a reply to this topic, and you’ll be entered in a random drawing. This week’s prizes are a signed Bandito Tyler poster, or a bag of Hawaiian Coffee. We’ve had amazing entries before, but feel free to do whatever you want. It can be as simple as strumming those chords. The challenge deadline is in a couple weeks, so February 28th. Good luck you guys. If you have any questions or need any help for this challenge or for the uke in general, leave it below. We’re always happy to help.
Aloha,

MemberHere we go, an entry for challenge #5, and this time I actually wrote a song for my nephew. He’s having difficulty remembering circle-related words for his maths homework, so I thought a song might make it easier.

MemberHey Kawai,
I really liked how you changed up the tempo of the song. Really makes it interesting. I’m sure some of the other members will also appreciate the tabs to see what you’re playing.Great Job all around!

MemberThanks Kahai!
I was hoping to find a little more time this past couple of days to record one last version, but time slipped by as it does. Overall I like the little melody that came out and really enjoyed the challenge!

MemberI always feel the same way, where I think I have more time than I really have. I actually felt pretty good about getting my song done by 10 last night instead of staying up to 1 am. The nice thing about the challenge is that it forces me to get a song done where I have some unfinished songs that I put off just because I’ll get to them eventually.

MemberMy partner teaches a 4/5 combo class. Would you be willing to share the chords with me and let me sing and play it in her class? Best original song I’ve heard on YouTube!!!
