Hi Kahai et al,
Following up on the latest podcast strap qeuestion… could you talk about holding a soprano without a strap, particularly for fingerstyle?
I’ve found the soprano to be (a bit paradoxically) the hardest to hold comfortably…
– when sitting and holding on lap, it’s hard to keep decent posture since you’re leaning over such a small uke
– when standing, strumming is fine, but for fingerstyle it’s hard to find enough surface area to grip with your forearm (unless maybe you’re picking mostly with the thumb, Ohta-san style)
