Daniel and I went to the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival in Fort Collins, CO last weekend. He joined me for a few songs and I also caught Gerald Ross before his set (he did a solo ‘ukulele set before us) and asked him to stay on stage and play some steel with us. Apparently Daniel didn’t want me in the video, but at least you can hear me — I’m playing slack key guitar. I was a little nervous thinking about switching between singing and playing, taking a solo and calling on Daniel and Gerald for solos. Pretty happy with it overall — there’s always something I could improve, like not forgetting how The Beauty of Mauna Kea goes in the middle of it, but hey, I made it though and survived to play another day. Not looking for any particular feedback, but if you think of anything I’m always open to it — your constructive criticism has helped me immensely over the years and I greatly appreciate it.
