    Hi UU,

    I replaced the high G string on a tenor uke with an acoustic guitar D-string (to convert to low G tuning)

    I noticed the string now BOOMS way louder than the others – even more than my other uke (also with a wound low G).

    Is there something about guitar strings in general that creates this effect? Or is it just that particular string/brand?
