Howdy UUers!

We made it to the New Year! Congratulations on sticking with your ukulele goals last year & welcome to a brand new year to progress and grow as a musician. Right off the bat, we're kicking the year off with sort of a challenge: this month on Uke Lessons we have the country hit, "Your Man" by Josh Turner. Not going to lie, it's a doosey. It's in the key of F#, so some of the chords may be new to you, the strumming pattern has a new and interesting feel, and the picking solo is filled with enough slides, pull offs, and bends to keep you busy for awhile. But this year you are pushing forward, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and doing things that will help you to grow. It's a great start to a great year.

January 2018 also marks the official 10 Year Anniversary of Ukulele Underground! To celebrate, we're giving away Islander Ukuleles, Aldrine's signature strings (AGXAQ), and having special pricing on UU+ memberships, plus even more special giveaways and fun stuff throughout the year. Check out UkuleleUnderground.com/10years for more info!

Happy New Year, ukulele players! May the new year bring you opportunities to share, express, and enjoy music through ukulele. And when you need a little help, let us know, we're always here for you!

  1. That was awesome. It’s the first time I’ve seen this and very interested to learn how to play some songs on my ukulele. I can’t read music but I can see where your fingers go.

  2. What a nice job done by all. I really enjoyed the playing. Aldrine, I didn’t realize that you could reach those low notes. I laughed out loud! That’s what married life does to you after a while though. Your voice reaches new highs and lows. 😉 Thank you for such a good job.

  3. Kia ora,

So lovely to listen to the ukulele played properly. I am very interested in learning how to play, how ever I need to purchase a ukulele first, when purchase I will pay for my lessons. Looking forward to learning.

    Kia ora ano

    Naaku noa
