Hey UUers!
Much MAHALO to everyone who played along with our April Fool's Kickstarter yesterday! Like always, we've got a brand new episode of Uke Lessons for you this month - this time, it's a complete tutorial for Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" on your ukulele. So grab that uke of yours and learn the chords, strumming pattern, and picking for this song and be sure to play along with the Play-Along. Have fun and if you have any questions or need anything at all, just comment or send us a message - we've got you covered! Rock on.
Aloha,

This is an absolutely amazing demo and training video. I gotta say…it was refreshing to see some of the bloopers at the end…its nice to see you guys have so much fun doing this. It truly shows how much you really love teaching and spreading the Ukulele love.
Thank you!!
Hi, I’ve login the account still can’t see the tab link for Think out Loud.
Thank you
My ukulele only has 12 frets, what should I do?
Hey Jay,
Aldrine only goes over the 12th fret briefly around 3 minutes and 40 seconds into the play along. For that specific picking you can hammer on 5 to 7 on the E String. It’s the same notes, just an octave lower. Hope this helps!
Aloha,
-Kira (UU Staff)
como me encanta esta página. Love you guys!!

What’s the strumming pattern for this song please?
Hey Alexandracarlsson,
Aldrine covers the strumming pattern at 2:20 in the lesson video. You can also see the strumming pattern on the second page of the tab PDF, which is linked right below the play-along video.
Aloha,

What a great site this is. Splendid tuition from a superb musician. I would like a longer section on the strum pattern, since this is the bit I find hardest of all. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift.
Hi can you please update the cords for the guitar. Thank you
Hi Riele, chords are the same for guitar so you just need to find the corresponding guitar chords. You can just google it and you should be able to find it.
Thanks for the Song IT is brillant. Afinación is GCEA with my uke does sound different

Finding love right where I are at my computer with ukulele underground
Brilliant!
Do you think you can learn “No Other Love” by common kings. I’d appreciate that
Hi, the video is missing the strumming technique when he goes into an Em – A – D – Em – A – Bm – Em – A
Can somebody explain how when the changes of chords are done within the strumming pattern?
Hi! I just want to know if you have a written down for the solo part? It’s kind of hard for me to catch up in the video. By the way, love your site 🙂
My concert ukulele seems to be to small for the solo part… if I were to get a new ukulele for this song, would you recommend soprano?
Hey Daniel!
Thanks for being a part of the Underground – the picking part of this song only goes up to the 14th fret, so any ukulele with at least 14 frets will work. Most soprano ukuleles have 12 or more frets, and most concerts and tenor ukuleles usually have more than enough frets to play any of the songs on our site. Just be sure to count the amount of frets and you should be good to go!

Hi, how do I play the chunk part of the strum? Thanks!
Hey Bob!
Check out the Uke Minutes video on How To Chunk on the Ukulele and you should be set! For even more info, see Week 4 of Ukulele 101 or the UU+ Thursday Live Lesson (from April 2, 2015) where Aldrine explains the “Chunk” technique in detail. Hope that helps – let us know if you have any other questions!
