Hey UUers!

Are you ready for another weekend!? Ready or not, it's here - along with another episode of Uke Minutes! This time Aldrine shows you an interesting strumming technique in the "2nd Beat Emphasis Strum." The main concept involves slowing down a particular strum for emphasis, which can dramatically change the style and feel of your strumming pattern. Try it out, experiment with it, and show us what you come up with!

Also, next week Sunday (9/12/10), Aldrine will be holding a Live Seminar over at UUU called "How to Figure out Songs on the Ukulele"! If you've ever wanted to learn how to figure out songs by ear, he'll be going over everything you need to know to find the chords, strumming, and picking to songs on your own! Streamed LIVE on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 1pm HST. Class Price $50 - 3 hours. If this sounds like something you'd love to know, sign up HERE! It's going to be a blast - can't wait to see you there!

Hope your Saturday is like a UU jelly doughnut: soft, easy to swallow, and filled with sweet uke-flavored goodness. Strum on & savor the flavor!

Aloha,
-UU Staff

  1. Thanks for this minute & the new one on first beat emphasis strum. These are real helpful for a guitarist trying to learn uke technique instead of transferring prior guitar knowledge!
