Hey UUers!

Have you ever wondered how great ukulele players are able to get a good tone while picking, no mater what ukulele they are playing? How can another player pick up a really cheap uke and still make it sound good?

The tone that you’re getting out of your ukulele surprisingly has less to do with the ukulele itself and more to do with the the angle of attack that you choose for each note. (In Uke Minutes 22, Jake Shimabukuro showed us an interesting way of attacking all four of your strings for a different sound). Here, Aldrine shows you three different ways of producing slightly different tones from your ukulele, using different angles of attack. Experiment with each of them to find the sound that is right for you!

Also don’t forget to check out the UU “Ambassadors of Ukulele” Contest currently in progress. We’re giving away a brand new Tenor KoAloha Uke along with a free Year of UU+ Membership! Anyone can win so send in your entries and Good Luck!

This month is just about ready to close up shop, so you know what that means … another awesome episode of Uke Lessons coming up soon! Check back here on Monday to see the newest Lesson! Have a great weekend, uke players, and we’ll catch you on the flip side.

Aloha,
