Uke Minutes 86 – 3-String Strum

Got a question about this technique? Post it HERE!

Hey UUers!

Awhile ago, we introduced the concept of Movable Chord Shapes on the ukulele (Uke Minutes 17). Not all shapes are movable, however, and when trying to move certain shapes sometimes it just doesn’t work out. So in this week’s episode of Uke Minutes, Aldrine introduces the 3-String Strum to alleviate this problem on chord shapes that only involve the C, E, and A strings. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Hope your Saturday
is something awesome! Strum that ukulele like you mean it, practice your heart out, and when someone asks if you play the uke, be prepared to rock.

Aloha,

Is there anything wrong with muting the G string with your thumb? When I was doing this, I noticed I was resting my thumb on it from behind the neck.

i find it easier to mute it rather than try to avoid it. there's nothing wrong with muting
