In our unending quest to help UU’ers to shred on ukulele, we bring to you this week’s episode of UKE MINUTES: Finger Stretching Warm-ups! Practice these simple stretching exercises to help you reach for intervals you have never reached before! But be sure to take it easy – this is just a warm-up, not a pain-tolerance test.

This week, we’re switching it up a bit and featuring a video that is not a performance vid. UKISOCIETY compares the sound of his 6 soprano ukuleles. It’s always fun seeing other’s ukulele collections, as we all know, collecting these things may and often does become habit forming. He also has a similar video for his tenors.

As if we haven’t had enough excitement for one day, this week’s episode rolls around with a blazing hot strum technique: the 5-Finger Roll! *Que 70’s style Kung-fu music* Don’t let appearances fool you – this handy uke party trick may seem simple at first glance, but try it for yourself and you’ll realize that it may take some practice. (But what technique would be any good if it didn’t require a little practice?). Give it a shot, then let us know what you think!

In a match up that came down to the wire. The poll betweenUkulele Junkie + Jello and Rod ended in a controversial tie. Final poll results were 31 to 30 in favor of Ukulele Junkie + Jello. However upon reviewing the votes, 1 was not counted due to the possibility of being a double vote leaving the final tally at 30 – 30.

This lead to two names being put into a hat and on a live stream, Rod’s name was pulled out of the hat and into the finals.

This week we’re featuring another original song as we like to do now and again. Valerie provides us with ‘Morning in May’. There are so many cool videos posted every week, posting just one member video seems unfair. Hopefully we can figure out something to remedy this soon.

Don’t forget Seeso’s live performance is this Saturday at 2:00pm CT thats 9am HST and noon for PST.

It should be a lot of fun so be sure to tune in if you can!

After loads of controversy Ame claimed the last match of the quarter final round of the April contest. To ensure that the competition remains fair, we will be implementing new rules for the semis. We monitor all voting and we will notify the contestant if any funny business is going on. The UU staff will reserve the right to discount votes they feel are bogus.

First match up of the Semi-Finals will be Rod vs Ukulele_Junkie and Jello.
